The geologists’ work led to the opening of drilling campaigns in 2014 on the Grand-Zambi project (AKOM II permit) and in 2015 on the Gouap project (Bipindi permit).
The Grand-Zambi project, with its better results, is developing more rapidly, with the resource being declared in 2017 when the Feasibility Report was submitted to the Ministry of Mines. The terms of reference for the environmental and social impact study were submitted the same year. The project reached a new milestone in 2019 with the signing of the mining agreement between the company and the state of CAMEROON, which guarantees the roles and responsibilities of each party and protects the interests of the people living near the project.
In 2020, the surface area earmarked for mining was declared to be in the public interest, and work began to identify the property and people affected by the project. In 2021, this will culminate in the environmental and social impact study, the report on which will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Sustainable Development. The report is accepted, and the certificate of conformity is issued to the project. On the strength of this long and perilous journey, the HEAD OF STATE, by signing mining licence N°2022/524 for the AKOM II permit, awarded to G-STONES RESOURCES, is crowning and congratulating the work carried out over many years.
The Bipindi licence is still in the exploration phase, and work will soon enable a resource to be declared, and the project to enter a new development phase.
